In May most parts of the north region and the western parts of Paraná received more than normal rainfall. On the other hand, most parts of the eastern sector of the Northeast Brazil showed negative anomalies of rainfall.

The Sea Surface Temperatures (SST) almost all over the Tropical Pacific continued to be above the historical normal. Some pockets of negative SST anomalies appeared near the southwest coast of South America.

The reservoirs in the South, Souteast and North regions of Brazil showed near normal values of " useful volume" of water for the generation of electrical energy for the country.
