Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) caused above normal rainfall over Roraima in Northern Brazil. Eastern disturbances were responsible for the positive anomalous precipitation in eastern Northeastern Brazil (NEB).
In Sobradinho reservoir, in Bahia (NEB), negative anomalies of about 28% was observed. The decreasing volume in the reservoir happened due to rainfall reduction along São Francisco river since March 2000.
