Heavy rainfall was observed in some Eastern Brazil States, such as Alagoas and Pernambuco and also in Southern Rio Grande do Sul. Hail and snow were observed respectively in the eastern portion of São Paulo city and highlands of Santa Catarina. A reduction of temperature was observed in almost all country.
The SST anomalies remained near-normal along the Equatorial Pacific Ocean. Over Equatorial and Tropical Atlantic above normal SSTs were observed from Uruguay coast to the Pernambuco coastal area.
The rationing of eletrical energy has continued. June is the dry season onset in most of Central Brazil, where the big basins ( Rio Grande, Rio Paranaíba, Rio Paraná and Rio São Francisco) which are responsible for a great amount of energy are located. In northeastern Brazil, Sobradinho dam showed a slight increase in volume comparing to the previous month, but it is still under attention.
The hot spots have increased in about 35% comparing to the previous month. Mato Grosso was the State which presented more hot spots all over the country.
